Route 44/55 in Highland to close Friday
HIGHLAND – Motorists are advised that the State Department of Transportation will be closing Vineyard Avenue (Route 44/55) between Tillson Avenue and VanWagner Road in Highland on Friday.
As part of the Hudson Valley Rail Trail project, the closure will occur between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to allow for the placement of a pedestrian bridge.
Travelers are advised to plan their trips accordingly and use the posted detour.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of the driver’s license.
