| Traffic/Weather Alert from the New York State
Bridge Authority as of 8:20 a.m
Roads in the region are extremely slick with many accidents being reported in areas surrounding the region's bridges. Specific conditions are as follows: Bear Mountain Bridge - light snow, the bridge is clear. Newburgh-Beacon Bridge - 35MPH speed posted, the bridge is clear but surrounding roads are hazardous. Mid-Hudson Bridge - the bridge is clear as snow continues to fall. Extra caution is advised. Surrounding roads are reported to be very hazerdous. Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge - snow continues to fall however the bridge itself is clear. Surrounding roads are hazardous. Rip Van Winkle Bridge - the bridge is wet, but clear. Snow continues to fall. According to the National Weather Service, the weather will deteriorate this afternoon with and Artic blast bringing severe cold and strong winds throughout the evening commute and into the night. There may be continued snow squalls. |
