WHITE PLAINS – An Ardsley man has been arrested on a five count
Westchester County indictment charging him with grand larceny and scheme
to defraud among other charges, for allegedly scamming women online. He
conned them out of about $140,000.
Solomon Jesus Nasser, 57, is charged with targeting established professional
women on dating sites like Match.com and Plentyoffish.com, dating them
and then securing money from them under false pretenses.
Nasser misrepresented himself to them including that he held a high level
position with the Defense Department; that he was an advisor to President
George W. Bush; had been an admiral in the US Navy; worked for the CIA;
commanded forces in Iraq; was on the board of Sikorsky Helicopters; held
over 80 patents, graduated with a Ph.D from MIT at age 22; was a multi-millionaire
with a jet; and owned an establish in Greenwich, CT, a property in Ardsley,
and property in California.
The indictment alleges that after meeting the women he would tell them
he was currently in a dire financial state and that he and his ex-wife
were in a battle over child support, or that the court had frozen his
assets.
He would convince the women to “loan” him money for living
expenses.
One victim gave him cash and purchases on his credit cards totaling over
$114,600. A second woman gave him cash and purchased items on her credit
card totaling over $24,700.
Nasser is also charged with failing to pay $17,400 in New York State taxes.
He has been charged with grand larceny in the second and third degrees,
scheme to defraud in the first degree and state tax law false returns,
all felonies, and criminal fax fraud in the fifth degree, a misdemeanor.
If convicted, he faces five to 15 years in state prison.
