As of 11 a.m. – road and highway conditions are deteriorating. Heavy snow is accumulating on peripheral roadways and is causing hazardous driving conditions throughout he Hudson Valley. It is snowing heavily at all Hudson River crossing with some sleet/freezing rain mixing in on occasion. Plow and sander crews are working continuously and maintenance equipment may be the roadway before and after toll plazas. Roads are currently passable but motorists are advised to use extreme caution. If the current conditions continue, roads will become increasingly hazardous. It is expected that conditions overnight and into tomorrow morning will worsen. If you do not absolutely need to be on the roads – stay home! |
