RUPCO to take applications for home repair grants

KINGSTON – Rural Ulster Preservation Company has announced that Ulster County homeowners may apply, in March, for grants that would help make essential home repairs.

Grant funding for the Single Family Repair Program is provided by the Ulster County Community Development Block Grant Program.  RUPCO, which will administer the program for the county, has scheduled two informational seminars for interested homeowners.

Traditionally, the types of repairs covered by the program are those which will keep homes in livable condition:  new roofs, new heating systems and other important infrastructure elements.

Informational seminars scheduled for March 10, 1 p.m. or March 11 at 5:30 p.m. will cover general program information and applications will be available. Income limits, property requirements and other program restrictions apply, all of which will be reviewed in each seminar.

Because of funding limits, not all eligible applicants will be assisted with the current grant.  Completing applications and getting on the waiting list for repairs is an important first step in the process.  Space in the informational seminars is limited and advance sign up will help guarantee each potential applicant a spot at one of the seminars.
