Jail inmate charged with assaulting another prisoner

KINGSTON – A Newburgh man, who is incarcerated at the Ulster County Jail, has been charged with second-degree assault, a felony, for allegedly attacking another inmate.

The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office said Seth Hinson, 25, who is in jail on unrelated charges, was arrested after it was learned that he initiated a physical altercation with another inmate.

Hinson allegedly struck the inmate in the head, back and chest and bit the prisoner, causing a fractured nose and contusions.

The incident occurred on Thursday, February 4. The sheriff’s office reported it yesterday.
