| Cadet Mess Hall employees win new contract |
|
WEST POINT – Teamsters Local 445 and Watson Services, the company that runs the Cadet Mess Hall at West Point, have reached an agreement on a new three-year contract. The old one expired in September and was extended while talks continued. Local 445 Secretary-Treasurer Adrian Huff said it is a good contract for the 160 to 180 union employees there. That includes a 65-cent increase in their hourly pay, he said. Rank-and-file will vote on the contract proposal on Thursday and the union is encouraging its members to vote for the contract. “This is what we set out to get and we were successful at that,” he said. Salaries range from $12 to $17 per hour for the union employees at the mess hall.
