| Municipalities brace for snow |
|
MID-HUDSON – With the latest snowstorm expected to dump about eight
inches on the region, municipalities are preparing for the worst. A state of emergency has been declared for the City of Mount Vernon beginning at midnight until further notice in light of the looming snow storm. Similarly, other communities have snow emergency regulations. Wednesday February 10, Metro-North will operate a reduced morning peak schedule in anticipation of a 25 percent reduction in ridership. Some trains will be combined and others will be eliminated. Beginning at noon and through 4 p.m., the railroad will be adding outbound "getaway" service, similar to what is done on the day before a holiday. After 5 p.m., they will operate a reduced schedule with combinations
and eliminated trains. |
