| Middletown hires economic development consultant |
|
MIDDLETOWN – The City of Middletown has officially retained the service of National Development Council, an economic development consultant, to help city businesses improve. National Development Council’s fee for their services will be $55,000, of which $25,000 will be paid by the city’s Industrial Development Agency with the balance to be paid by the Community Development Block Grant. The entire council as well as the Mayor Joseph DeStefano are excited to be working with the firm. “NDC has a national reputation,” said the mayor. “They come in with their own bank to assist small businesses; they’re experts in historic tax credits; also, all types of funding that they bring to the table for not only business retention and expansion, but also new businesses.” National Development Council will be replacing the city’s previous consulting firm, which DeStefano said was “underperforming and actually costs more money than NDC.” |
