Equipment malfunction knocks power out in Monticello area

MONTICELLO – Some 1,600 NYSEG customers in the Village Monticello/Town of Thompson area were without power for an hour from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday.

Catskill Regional Medical Center was among those without electricity; however, generators kept the power on.

A NYSEG spokesman said an equipment failure at a substation caused the outage.

Repair crews replaced the part and had service restored within one hour.
