Beekman supervisor wants info about proposed MTA K-9 facility

BEEKMAN – Town of Beekman Supervisor Daniel French has fired off a letter to top MTA officials asking for details or a proposed K-9 training center in East Fishkill, on the border of the Town of Beekman.

French is concerned about traffic, noise from outdoor dog training and shooting range activities, and close proximity to housing.

“Our primary interest at this time is to receive a written statement fully describing the proposed facility,” French wrote to MTA officials.

He urged them to conduct all necessary and appropriate environmental studies before moving forward with the project.
