POUGHKEEPSIE – A Poughkeepsie man was sentenced Friday in Dutchess County Court to 25 years to live in prison for the shooting death of another man in April 2009.  Darryl Rogers, Jr., 25, was given the maximum sentence in connection with the murder of Shanta Gaines, 27, as the men stood by a car on April 30, 2009. The two had argued a couple of days earlier.

Rogers was convicted of second degree murder in January.
