| Lawmakers hold off on law to require midterm elected officials to contribute to their health insurance |
|
POUGHKEEPSIE – The Government Services Committee of the Dutchess County Legislature, tabled a local law that would require four mid-term countywide elected officials to contribute 15 percent of the cost of their health insurance. Legislator Angela Flesland, who called for the resolution to be tabled, said the move, Thursday, was to clear up wording by the legal counsel. The law would apply to the county executive, sheriff, county clerk and district attorney. Last month, lawmakers approved a similar move for themselves. “We have every intention of passing it; we just want to do it right,” said Flesland. |
