WESTCHESTER COUNTY – Scenic Hudson has been awarded $25,000 from the Westchester Community Foundation (WCF) to work with partners in Tarrytown and Peekskill to transform former industrial sites along the Hudson River into public parks that become community hubs for recreation, relaxation and other enjoyment of the river.

A renovation of the historic riverfront bathhouse in Sleepy Hollow also is part of the effort. Creating the new public venues is aimed at enhancing Westchester County’s quality of life, vibrancy and community health as well as economic opportunity.

The grant from the WCF came from The Henry Phillip Kraft Family Fund will enable Scenic Hudson park planners to collaborate with elected officials, community leaders, residents and developers on the park initiatives.

Each of the projects will create links to Westchester County’s RiverWalk.
