Dutchess man charged with illegal gun possession

BEEKMAN – State Police have charged a Poughquag man with felony criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree after he was stopped while in the parking lot of the Stop and Shop on Router 55 and Beekman Road in the Town of Beekman.

David Turner, 25, was pulled over around 9:30 p.m. on January 28.  After a trooper noticed a strong odor or marijuana coming from the vehicle, he conducted a search and found a loaded, unregistered .38 caliber revolver in the glove box. Also found were 30 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Turner was charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, criminal possession of marijuana and vehicle and traffic violations.
