Allen allegedly offered sex tours

WHITE PLAINS – A Poughkeepsie man was arraigned in Westchester County Court Monday on a felony complaint charging him with promoting prostitution in the third degree, a felony.

Douglas Allen, 66, of 15 Janet Drive in Poughkeepsie, allegedly operated big Apple Oriental Tours, which promoted trips to the Philippines and Thailand to meet “eligible” women to engage in sex acts.

Allen was arrested after an undercover investigator from the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office communicated with him over a 3 ½ month period about taking one of the tours. The undercover agent met with Allen a number of times to make payments for the trip totaling $2,500.

Allen was arrested on December 3 and with the assistance of State Police, a search warrant was executed at his home.
Bail was set at $10,000 cash or bond with a surrender of his driver’s license and passport.

If convicted, Allen could get up to 2 1/3 to seven years in state prison.
