Two arrested after Ulster drug investigation

KINGSTON – Two Kingston area men have been arrested following a three month investigation into narcotics sales.

URGENT task force officers executed a search warrant at 18 “The Hills” in Port Ewen Friday afternoon and arrested Joshua Sickler, 31, of that address. About an hour later, Robert “Bobbo” Medley, 32, of 74 Abruyn Street in Kingston, arrived to deliver cocaine.

When he spotted police, he threw an ounce of cocaine from his vehicle and tried to drive away, but was trapped by detectives on a dead end street. He was taken into custody.

Two children, ages nine and six, were found in the car.

Both men were arrested with Sickler being charged with criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the second degree and criminal nuisance in the second degree, both misdemeanors.

He was released on an appearance ticket returning to Esopus Town Court.

Medley was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was arraigned and remanded to the Ulster county jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.

Medley’s 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer was impounded.

URGENT was assisted by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office K-9 team, the patrol division and residents of “the Hills.”
