Five face felony drug charges following Peekskill raid

PEEKSKILL – A joint investigation between the Peekskill Police Department and the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET) has led to the arrest of five individuals on multiple felony drug charges. 

The arrests were the culmination of an investigation which centered on a residence located at 163 Union Avenue in Peekskill. It was raided at about 6 p.m. Wednesday by the Peekskill Police Tactical Response Unit.

The resident, Gerald Griswold, 62, was charged with criminal nuisance in the first degree after investigators learned he was allowing his apartment to be utilized for the sale and use of crack cocaine.

Police also charged four other individuals found in the apartment, including the suspected dealer, after a quantity of crack cocaine was located inside. Investigators recovered packaging materials, a scale, and other paraphernalia indicating the residence was in fact being used to distribute narcotics. 

Charged with two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree was Jonathan Green, 22, of White Plains. Green was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third and fifth degrees, both felonies.

He was also found to have an outstanding warrant from the City of White Plains charging him with cruelty to animals.

Chantel Freeman, 30, and Reuben Anderson, 36, of Peekskill, and John Mejia, 23, of the Bronx, were charged with criminal possession in the third and fifth degrees.

Griswold was also charged with criminal possession in the third and fifth degrees.
