Former attorney guilty of stealing client funds

GOSHEN – Former Middletown attorney F. Daniel Blizard has pled guilty in Orange County Court to stealing $10,000 of client funds.

District Attorney Frank Phillips said Blizard, a resident of Middletown, stole the money that was deposited in an escrow account by withdrawing the money and using it himself.

Phillips said based on Blizard’s prior exemplary record, his office will recommend no more than six months in the county jail and restitution of the funds when he is sentenced in June.

Blizard is a former Orange County assistant district attorney, having served in the mid-1980s.

He is disbarred from practicing as an attorney in New York.
