Suspects sought in attempted home invasion robbery

SOMERS - State Police at Somers are currently investigating an incident at a private residence in the Watergate Drive section of Amawalk in the Town of Somers about 10:45 last Friday evening.  An occupant of the house was confronted in his garage by three male subjects all of whom were wearing dark clothing, hooded sweatshirts and mask concealing their faces.

One of the subjects assaulted the resident by striking him in the head with his fist.  Another family member heard the commotion in the garage and upon opening the interior door to investigate the noise observed the three suspects who then immediately fled from the garage.

No weapon of any kind was displayed and the victim sustained minor injury.

It is believed that the individuals responsible for this incident likely had access to a motor vehicle which may have been left parked on a street in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the New York State Police at Somers at (914)277-3177.
