PINE ISLAND – For several months, the Wilcox Bridge on County Route 1 between the towns of Minisink and Warwick, was closed for reconstruction, forcing drivers using the busy highway to take a lengthy detour.  The work is done, and officials of the two towns and Orange County, celebrated the reopening.

“This is a vital artery connecting this part of our County and I want to thank Commissioner Fares, Deputy Commissioner Chuck Lee and our DPW for their hard work in replacing this bridge on time and under budget,” County Executive Edward Diana said. “This is another example of the ongoing efforts our DPW makes to ensure the safety of our residents.”

The replacement of the Wilcox Bridge represented over a $680,000.00 investment in the infrastructure of County Route 1.
