Marlboro hamlet master plan workshop set

MARLBOROUGH – The Town of Marlborough is developing a Hamlet Master Plan for the Hamlet of Marlboro. Landowners, residents, business owners and other stakeholders in the town are invited to participate in the public workshop for this project on Thursday, November 12.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held at the Marlboro Elementary School Cafeteria on Young Ave.  The public workshop will include an introductory presentation about the hamlet and the planning project, initial land use and revitalization concepts, as well as a facilitated discussion about the issues of concern and concepts that should be addressed through the plan.

Building on the Marlboro Hamlet Area Transportation Plan completed in 2008, the hamlet master plan will provide future land use and zoning recommendations that were outside the scope of the transportation plan.  Some of the issues and opportunities that will be discussed include potential areas for hamlet expansion, appropriate land uses, pedestrian circulation, economic development opportunities, and revitalization and beautification of the hamlet.

This will be the first opportunity for the community to participate in the development of this study.

This study is being conducted by Behan Planning and Design in conjunction with a steering committee of residents from the hamlet that is overseeing this work.
