| Teen stabbed in altercation at Abbott House |

| BETHEL – Two teenage boys living at the
Abbott House, a residential home for boys in Bethel, have been charged with
assault following a fight in which one youth stabbed the other. Dorse Wynter, 17, of Swan Lake, was charged with second-degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree and menacing in the second degree. Joshua Gomez, 18, also of Swan Lake, was charged with third-degree assault. State Police said on October 8, the boys fought at the Abbott House. Gomez engaged Wynter in a physical altercation with his bare hands and during the fight, Wynter used modified scissors to stab Gomez in the back and side. Wynter then took a fire extinguisher from the residence and menaced the other occupants of the house. Both Wynter and Gomez were treated at Catskill Regional Medical center for minor injuries and released. Gomez was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Bethel Town Court while Wynter was arraigned and committed to the Sullivan County Jail on $10,000 bail. |
