Political notes
- The New York League of Conservation Voters has announced its endorsement of Mary Foster for re-election as mayor of Peekskill. Foster has put energy efficiency, parks and the improvement of air and water quality at the top of Peekskill's agenda, the group said.
- Laborers' Local 17 has declared its support of Richard Sush in his election to councilman for the Town of Thompson. “Laborers’ Local 17 is pleased to support those politicians that understand the concerns of union families,” said union Business Manager Todd Diorio. Sush is a former two-term Councilman and Monticello Village Manager and has been endorsed and supported by Congressman Maurice Hinchey, Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther, and endorsed by both the Democratic Party and the Sullivan County Independence Party.
