Woodridge man arrested on burglary charge

MONTICELLO – Monticello Police have arrested a Woodridge man on a felony charge of burglary in the second degree in connection with a break in at the main building of the Town and Country Resort community at 83 Forestburg Road in Monticello.

At 3 p.m. Tuesday, police received a report from the caretaker who had observed a man later identified as Jose Sanchez, 59, as he climbed onto a roof from a tree and then entered the building through a second story window.

Police arrived, searched the building and found Sanchez in a vacant apartment.

He was also charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief in the fourth degree.

Sanchez was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail pending a future court appearance.
