The Committee to Elect Richard Sush will conduct a rally in support of Sush’s election to councilman for the Town of Thompson. The event takes place on Wednesday, October 14 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Dutch’s Tavern in Rock Hill. Light fare will be served. A cash bar will be available, and tickets will be sold at the door for $15/person. Sush is a former two-term councilman, Monticello village manager and dean of students at Sullivan Community College. He has been endorsed by the Democratic and Sullivan County Independence parties.
The Orange County Young Democrats will conduct a political discussion forum, “The End of Obamania?” on Sunday, October 4 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Newburgh Artisans, 87 Ann Street in Newburgh. The group will discuss if the enthusiasm over President Barack Obama fizzled among young people since the election? Come share your opinion on this topic and offer your thoughts on how young people can become more involved in Orange County politics.
