Stabbing in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN – As the Middletown Police Department was touting the latest statistics that violent crime was down 22 over last year, a stabbing occurred late Saturday afternoon.

The incident occurred at 70 Linden Avenue when a 30-year-old man sustained non-life threatening stab wounds.

Police located and arrested a female suspect some 40 minutes after the incident. The weapon believed used, a knife, was recovered right after the attack.

As for the crime statistics, police said through October 31, all violent crime categories have decreased over last year. Murder is down 80 percent, Rape 40 percent, Robbery 25 percent, Burglary 14 percent and Aggravated Assault is down 14 percent.
