MIDDLE HOPE – A fast moving fire Thursday morning raged through a two-story wood frame house on Albany Post Road in the Middle Hope Fire District in the Town of Newburgh. There were no injuries reported and no report of occupants being home at the time the fire broke out.

A town police patrol in the area reported the fire not far from the Ulster County line.

The building sustained considerable damage.

The fire is being investigated by the Orange County and Town of Newburgh fire inspectors.

Fire departments battling the blaze included Middle Hope, Milton, Marlboro, Orange Lake, Good Will and Vails Gate, which responded with a FAST team.
