Schiff returns as Sullivan sheriff

Schiff:  "... a battle you
continually fight"

LIBERTY – Sullivan County Sheriff Michael Schiff won a second four-year term as the county’s top law enforcement official.

He told supporters at his Liberty campaign headquarters after it became apparent that he defeated challenger Frank Armstrong by a two-to-one margin that his reelection was proof the voters were satisfied with his performance during his first term.

Among Schiff’s priorities is to continue to tough fight against gangs and drugs.

“That’s a problem that has been with us for some time and we will continue to assist the other PDs and work in our own way,” he said. “We have a full-time gang and intelligence officer and we will continue to work on that. It’s something that will be with us and we have to continually stay on it. Schiff said the problem won’t go away. “It’s not a battle you win; it’s a battle you continually fight.”

Schiff said his success over the last four years was due to the team of administrators he assembled and he plans to continue to work with them in his next term in office.
