Public meetings set on TZ Bridge/I-287 corridor project

TARRYTOWN – Five public meetings will be held in Rockland and Westchester counties from November 10 through December 9 to update the public about proposed plans to build a new Tappan Zee Bridge.

The state Transportation Department is the lead agency of a team of three, including the Thruway Authority and Metro-North Railroad.

The project will include bus rapid transit and commuter rail systems along the 30 mile, I-287 corridor from Suffern to Port Chester.

All of the sessions will take place from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The meeting schedule includes:

  • Ramapo, Tuesday, November 10, at Spring Valley High School Cafeteria, 361 Route 59 in Spring Valley;
  • Clarkstown, Thursday, November 12, at Palisades Center, Adler community Room, 1000 Palisades Center Drive, West Nyack;
  • Orangetown, Wednesday, November 18, at Nyack High School Cafeteria, 360 Christian Herald Road, Upper Nyack;
  • White Plains, Tuesday, December 1 at Greenburgh Library, Multipurpose Room, 300 Tarrytown Road in Elmsford;
  • Harrison, Wednesday, December 9, in the Port Chester Senior Community Center, 222 Grace Church Street in Port Chester.
