Home invasion robbery remains under investigation

ELLENVILLE – Police continue to look for three men who kicked in the door to an apartment at 32 Clinton Avenue in the Village of Ellenville early last Monday morning.

The suspects, two of whom were armed with handguns, demanded money, jewelry and drugs from a male resident. The man tried to fight off the attackers and was struck and beaten on the head and face with one of the guns.

When the female victim confronted one of the intruders, he struck her in the face with a gun.

All three men fled the apartment, got into a dark SUV and took off toward Route 209.

Both victims were transported to St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie where they were they were treated for their injuries. The woman suffered from a laceration and contusion on the left side of her head and face. The man sustained a laceration to the right side of his head. Both were admitted for observation.

It is unknown if the suspects were injured during the altercation.
