Diana endorsed by GOP

NEW WINDSOR – Orange County Executive Edward Diana, a Republican, has been endorsed by his own political party at their annual nominating convention.

Following the event in New Windsor Thursday night, Diana said he continues to lead on his three main focuses.  They include safety and security of the people, fiscal responsibility to the people and their tax dollars, and quality of life, he said.

Diana already has the backing of the county Conservative Party.  Democrat challenger Patricia O’Dwyer has the official endorsement of her party.

The Republican Committee Thursday night also endorsed District Attorney Frank Phillips and County Clerk Donna Benson for reelection. No opponents have surfaced as of yet for those positions.
