Crack cocaine investigation lands Kingston man in jail

KINGSTON – The URGENT task force has arrested a Kingston man following an investigation into crack cocaine sales.

Alton Davidson, Jr., 28, of 115 Hone Street was selling the drug in the Kingston and town of Ulster areas, police said.

Officers had purchased crack cocaine from Davidson on several occasions and on Wednesday he was arrested. He tried unsuccessfully to swallow a quantity of the drug when officers approached him.

Davidson was charged with two counts each of criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance as a felony.

He was remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail.
