HARRIS – Catskill Regional Medical Center has applied for a state grant for funding to expand its services in Sullivan County.

Hospital President Steven Ruwoldt said the facility is looking to provide more care initiatives for residents of the county.

“We are predominantly looking at primary care and applying for federal grants to get some primary care offices on the west side of Sullivan County,” he said. “We are also looking at, if we get the grants, perhaps a diagnostic center to expand some of our services.”

Catskill Regional’s main campus is in Harris and a satellite hospital is in Callicoon. The hospital is applying for $3 million to $4 million in grants for the projects.

“We want to be the county’s hospital,” said Ruwoldt.
