Fire damages Thompson home

TOWN OF THOMPSON - Monticello firefighters responded to an early morning blaze on South Maplewood Road west of the village in the Town of Thompson. The fire was reported by a passerby at 5:40 a.m. to the Sullivan County Emergency Control Center.

Firefighters from Smallwood, White Lake and Forestburgh assisted at the scene and Rock Hill was on standby at Monticello's station. 

The fire is being investigated by Sullivan County's Bureau of Fire and Sheriff's Department, the cause has not yet been determined.

There is no word on injuries, or whether anyone was in the house at the time.
