| Early morning fire destroys home |

| WALLKILL – Fire early Tuesday morning
destroyed a house at 538 East Main Street in the Town of Wallkill. The fire was extinguished by members of the Mechanicstown, Silver Lake and Goshen fire departments. There were no residents at home at the time of the fire and no one was injured, said Wallkill Town Police Chief Robert Hertman. By daybreak, demolition crews had leveled what was left of the structure. Town police and the Orange County arson task force are conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire.
