No serious injuries in car, school bus accident

HURLEY – Troopers from Kingston State Police Friday afternoon investigated a two vehicle accident that involved a school bus in Hurley.

The accident occurred on Zandhoek Avenue at the intersection with Hillside Ave. at approximately 3:20 p.m.

The investigation revealed that an Arthur F. Mulligan bus with 21 students was northbound on Hillside Avenue from the Myer School in Hurley.  After stopping for the stop sign, the bus proceeded forward and struck a vehicle eastbound on Zandhoek Avenue.  The car which was operated by a 57-year-old Hurley woman was struck in the passenger side and came to rest in a ditch on the north side of the roadway. 

The only injury reported in the accident was to an 11-year-old boy who complained of pain after striking the seat in front of him.  He was transported to Kingston City Hospital by Hurley Rescue squad. 

The 45-year-old female bus driver who was driving the bus was issued a ticket for failure to yield at an intersection.
