MID-HUDSON – Hudson, Fulton, Champlain Quadricentennial Director Tara Sullivan is spending much of the week delivering quad flags to officials around the state to commemorate the history of the Hudson Valley.

Sullivan would like the flags distributed to schools, historic venues, municipalities and libraries.

“We went on down to New York and delivered our first flag to City Hall. We also delivered 1,500 flags to all of the public schools of New York City,” she said. The rest of the day Tuesday includes flag distribution stops in Westchester, Rockland and Orange County.

On Wednesday, Sullivan expects to be delivering flags in Ulster County and then driving north to continue her mission.

Sullivan got the idea for the flag delivery tour from Ulster County Legislator Susan Zimet, who chairs the County Legislature’s Tourism Committee.
