| CSEA backs Murphy for 20th CD |
|
ALBANY – The New York State CSEA Wednesday announced its endorsement of Scott Murphy in the special election in the 20th Congressional District. Murphy, a Democrat, will challenge Republican Assembly Minority Leader James Tedisco in the March 31 election. CSEA President Danny Donohue said Murphy is “uniquely qualified” to serve in Congress because he helped create over 1,000 jobs. Donohue noted that Murphy supports the stimulus legislation recently passed by Congress and signed by President Barack Obama and is committed to seeing that investment in the nation's future is used wisely. Tedisco and Murphy will face off for the slot left vacant when Kirsten Gillibrand, who previously held that position, was named to the Senate by the governor. |
