Armed robbery at Town of Poughkeepsie restaurant

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Panera Bread store at 2020 South Road. The incident occurred at 11:30 p.m. Saturday when a man walked into the store, displayed a weapon and demanded cash from the safe.

He was given money and fled the scene in a waiting car. No one was injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black man, wearing a black sweatshirt, black and white hat, blue jeans and a ski mask or scarf over his face.

The getaway car was described as a small two door white or silver vehicle, possible a Saturn.
