PINE PLAINS – An Orange County man was killed Saturday afternoon when his car crossed lanes on Route 199 in the Town of Pine Plains and struck another coming the other way.

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Brandon Wolf, 26, of New Windsor. They said he was driving eastbound shortly after 1 p.m. when his 1989 Nissan Skyline crossed into the patch of a westbound 2002 Honda Civic driven by Sarah Stevens, 25, of Millerton. She suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Saint Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie.

Wolf suffered severe head trauma and was transported to Saint Francis where he later died from his injuries, police said.

It appears both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Unit is conducting a full analysis of the crash.
