LAGRANGE – The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a one car fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on Noxon Road near Smith Road in the Town of LaGrange late Sunday night.

Police said the preliminary investigation shows the vehicle was traveling northbound on Noxon at 11:30 p.m. when it crossed lanes, went off the road, struck a utility pole and veered off into a wooded area.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene and a second individual was treated for minor injuries.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
