Two charged in May attack

MONTICELLO – Monticello Police have arrested two men who they believe were involved in an attack on a man at the Broadway Mobile in late May.

Ernest Bastian, 25, of Thompsonville and Messiah Lockhart, 29, of Monticello, were each charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree and misdemeanors for riot in the second degree and menacing in the second degree.

The two were allegedly part of a group of several men who had threatened another man with baseball bat, knives and what appeared to be a handgun.

Bastian was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail and Lockhart was remanded in lieu of $15,000 bail.

Several other arrests have already been made in connection with the attack.
