Fallsburg man arrested following domestic dispute with girlfriend

FALLSBURG – State Police have arrested a Fallsburg man after he was involved in a domestic incident with his girlfriend and allegedly pulled a knife, State Police at Liberty said.

William Walsh, 29, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, third-degree assault, second-degree menacing, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

State Police responded to an apartment house in the Town of Fallsburg on June 12 regarding a reported domestic incident.

Investigation revealed that during the evening of June 11, Walsh became verbally and physically abusive to his girlfriend and during the dispute, threats were made and a knife was displayed.

Further investigation indicated that Walsh’s children were present for the dispute and there was an active order of protection in effect.

Troopers located Walsh in the Town of Bethel and he was subsequently arrested. He was arraigned and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail to reappear in court.
