KINGSTON – Former Ulster County District Attorney Donald Williams has been selected by the county’s Republican Committee to run for county court judge in the November election.

The committee members also endorsed former Gardiner Town Supervisor Jack Hayes to run for the county Legislature seat now held by Glenn Noonan. Noonan, the legislature’s minority leader, placed fourth in secret balloting, for the three District 8 seats.  He will challenge Hayes in the September primary.

The committee, meeting at a Kingston area motel for its Tuesday night convention, also endorsed candidates for a number of other elected slots, including Kingston city council seats.
