Political notes

  • Assemblyman Gregory Ball, a Republican candidate for US Congress in the 19th District, Thursday released his second quarter filing report with the Federal Elections Commission showing that he has raised over $180,213.
  • Congressman Scott Murphy (NY-20) announced that he has raised over $550,000 since April 1, and more than $2.5 million since February 1.  Murphy raised over $363,000 between April 21and June 30.
  • Orange County Executive Edward Diana, County Clerk Donna Benson and District Attorney Frank Phillips Thursday announced the results of their filing for this year’s campaign petitions. The team filed close to 8,000 signed petitions in support of their respective candidacies on the Republican, Conservative and Independence Lines.
