MONTICELLO – A Kiamesha Lake man has been arrested in connection with the gunpoint robbery of a man in Monticello last month. Monticello Village Police and State Police at Liberty arrested Edwin Bigio, 19, on Wednesday and charged him with first-degree robbery. He was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bail pending future court action. Another suspect, identified by police at Lawrence Watson, 23, of Port Charlotte, FL, was arrested and is being held in the Port Charlotte County Jail pending extradition back to Monticello, also to face first-degree robbery charges. The two men, while armed with a handgun, allegedly held up a 25-year-old Woodridge man at 11 a.m. on June 23 while in the parking lot of the Horizons Apartment Complex on Harmony Lane in Monticello. |
