Hein reappoints five Board of Health members, names two new ones

KINGSTON – Ulster County Executive Michael Hein has re-upped five of the members of the county Board of Health and added two new ones. Both are doctors.

Hein named infectious disease specialist Dr. Marc Tack and OB GYN Dr. Dominique Delma to the board. Adding the two docs “clearly strengthens the board and better serves public health interests” of county residents, said Hein. “As we face issues like H1N1 ‘swine flu’, Lyme disease, pre-natal healthcare concerns and so much more, individuals like Dr. Tack and Dr. Delma will be invaluable.”

Ellenville Regional Hospital President Steven Kelley was not renewed for the board; he had been its chairman and Dr. Robert Taylor resigned from the board in April.

Hein did reappoint Dr. Elbert MacFadden; Marion Ostrander, RN; Joan Authenrieth, RN; Dr. Thomas Stellato; and David Clegg, an attorney.

The county legislature must confirm all of the nominations.
