Albany man charged with drug possession in Saugerties

SAUGERTIES – An  Albany man has been arrested in the Village of Saugerties while in possession of 150 ecstasy pills and 150 tablet of diverted prescription drugs.

Police with the URGENT Task Force and Saugerties Ttown Police received information that Alexander Portelli, 19, would be traveling to Saugerties to distribute ecstasy.

Aside from the pills, police found a switchblade knife on him when arrested.

Portelli was charged with several felony drug counts and criminal possession of a weapon.  He was remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail.
