NEW PALTZ – Police have charged a New Paltz woman with criminal possession of marijuana in the fourth degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.

New Paltz Police responded to the home of Elizabeth Welter, at 21 Grove Street in the Village of New Paltz after they received information that a quantity of marijuana was to be delivered to her in the mail.

Police found her in possession of over five ounces of pot.

She was released with an appearance ticket.
